Virtual Reality in Brooklyn.

Anyone in the tech industry or interested in tech know that VR/AR, virtual reality/augmented reality, is developing and improving very quickly.  The future is here! This weekend, September 16th and 17th, VR will be the highlight at the the Worlds Fair Nano being held at the Brooklyn Expo Center in Greenpoint.

So, aside from hosting this giant tech exhibit, where does Brooklyn fit into this world? Over the years Brooklyn has become home to many tech industries and programs. According to a recent Brooklyn Daily Eagle article our borough has just expanded it’s place in the tech world with this news:

Another step in Brooklyn’s evolution as a tech powerhouse comes with the announcement that the borough will soon be home to the country’s first ever publicly funded virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR) facility.The city recently announced the selection of New York University Tandon School of Engineering (formerly Polytechnic University) to develop and operate a hub forVR/AR at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, with a workforce development center at CUNY Lehman College in the Bronx.
