Last month RC’s Victoria Alexander spoke at a panel discussion presented by Onward, a post-breakup concierge service launching in New York City soon, about how to navigate a breakup. Specifically she spoke with a real estate angle in mind. Couples often choose to move in together in New York because rent is so high and it makes life easier to split the cost. If it doesn’t work out between the couple, however, there are a myriad of issues that come along with this. Moving out before the lease is up, being stuck with paying twice as much if your significant other moves out, and the question of who gets to stay.
