Rainy Day Activities in Brooklyn

It’s been so lovely for so long we were bound to run into a week like this one. Rain is in the forecast Monday through Friday and if today is an example of what’s to come, planning outdoor activities is not recommended. Good thing there is plenty to do indoors and we’ve got some ideas!

Museum visits- Two of our favorite museums in all of New York happen to be in Brooklyn. First is the Brooklyn Museum of Art, which is expansive and never feels too crowded. They have a yummy cafe too so you can spend the entire rainy day in this space. Next is the New York Transit Museum in Downtown Brooklyn.  This one highlights the history of transportation in New York from trolleys to the subway. Plenty to see and interact with for adults and kids alike

Shopping Center- The closest thing we have to a mall would be a shopping center like City Point, which is so much better than your average mall. Dekalb Market is the most delicious food court you can imagine, Alamo Drafthouse has a wonderful variety of films plus draft beers and food, and a mixture of small boutiques and larger department stores such as Century 21 make this place the best shopping destination.

For the kids- Indoor playgrounds are big in Brooklyn for either winter days of rainy days during the warm season. Check out this list of 22 such spaces from MommyPoppins.

Have fun and stay dry!!
