Pre-K deadline extended.
Mar 05, 2014
We just got word that the deadline to apply for public Pre-K, which was previously early April, has been extended to April 23rd. We’ve heard a lot of talk about the expansion of the Pre-K program and so many parents have been hopeful that it would happen. Here’s a little more hope for everyone. The extension of the deadline is in place now to accommodate the expansion and give parents more time to learn about the changes in the programs. These changes haven’t happened yet but this sure does make it sound pretty definite that they will. Right? Here’s something from the DOE.
Families will be notified as soon as additional program options have been finalized, and will be able to adjust their applications accordingly. Read Chancellor Carmen Fariña’s press release about the pre-k program expansion efforts.
Visit the Department of Education’s pre-k website to obtain more information about admissions, to submit an online application, download the Pre-K Directory and other resources in multiple languages, and to learn about upcoming Parent Information Sessions.
