A couple of weeks ago we read this DNAInfo article about a Biggie Smalls mural in Brooklyn that was set to be destroyed so that the landlord could install new windows in his building. The neighborhood of Bed Stuy, where the the Notorious B.I.G hails from and where this commemorative wall is located, was not happy about this. The artists were as well and even offered the landlord $5000 to keep it up. The landlord got phone calls from many local papers covering this story and evidently all of this controversy about his decision made him change his mind. The mural is staying put!! It’s so wonderful in this ever-changing borough when the residents can still have a powerful influence aspects that shape their neighborhood. Read more about this story here!
