The NYC Ferry launches their South Brooklyn route tomorrow With the price of a subway fare, $2.75, you will be able to ride from Bay Ridge to Wall Street in about 49 mins. There are free transfers to other NYC ferries on other routes but you will not be able to receive a free transfer on a bus or subway line.  The NYC Ferry operated by Hornblower will start in Bay Ridge make stops along Dumbo, Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6, Governors Island for summer only, Red Hook, Sunset Park and will end at Pier 11 on Wall Street .

PortSide New York will host a kickoff from 6:30-8:30am with a free continental breakfast and champagne. The ferry station in Red Hook will be at Atlantic Basin which was ideal for many in the Red Hook community, as it gives access to thousands living in NYCHA, Van Brunt retail, The Brooklyn Cruise terminal and more destinations such as PortSide New York and Pioneerworks.

There will be eventually six lines with the current Rockaway and East River route that launched last month as well as the South Brooklyn and Astoria route launching this summer and the Lower East Side and Bronx route next year.

There could be long waits, as with anything new so just be sure to plan ahead. You could even take your bike on for a $1.00 charge.
