First, tell us about your business and anything special we should know about it or you.
Le Jardin NY (translation the Garden) is a unique and elegant floral studio based in Brooklyn, New York and focuses on premier quality florals and design elements of high artistic standard. The decision to start Le Jardin NY website (www.lejardinny.com) was driven by a deep passion for the art of floral design, combined with a desire to create something beautiful and meaningful for customers. Le Jardin NY’s mission is to beatify mundane days with stunning florals. We are more than just a flower studio, we create floral pieces that are art. We celebrate color, beauty, and love. We aim to sell the best social and environmentally responsible everlasting and fresh cut flowers in New York and beyond.
Why do you feel a connection to your work?
I was always fascinated by colors, flowers and beauty. While having a successful high-end jewelry design brand, I was always interested in creating beautiful, unique, statement Flower Arrangements. Hence the Le Jardin NY was born.
As a business owner, community is everything. In what ways do you serve your community and how has your community served you?
As an owner of Le Jardin NY, I try to make an impact on my community by promoting sustainability. The benefit of everlasting roses, our specialty, it their environmental sustainability. Their long-lasting life means there is a lesser need for transportation and storage compared to that of regular fresh-set flowers, which saves, time, money and environmental pollution. Since there is also no need to water everlasting flowers, we save water as well.
What advice would you give to young women who want to start a small business?
First of all, be passionate about things you do and get involved with. Your passion will help you during tough times. Love what you do and the rest will come on its own. Be unstoppable, if you love and passionate of things you do, no one will be ever be able to stop you. And lastly, dream, dream big, do not let your dreams scare you.
