First, tell us about your business and anything special we should know about it or you.

For years, I struggled as a child before I learned of the many tools I now teach to others in regards to staying organized as a creative. As a professional organizer and productivity coach in my organizing business, Radiant Order, I provide in-person and online organizing services to clients (in workspaces and residentially) who seek more organization and reliable systems in their lives. If you are a creative person or work within a creative business that is in need of better systems, you can feel free to check out www.radiantorder.com for more info.

Why do you feel a connection to your work?

It’s been on my heart and mind to democratize the philosophy behind organizing as a space designer and systems builder, and to educate the masses about how the world of organizing can improve their individual and team’s quality of life and time efficiency. Often online, it can seem like on socials to be organized, you must participate in a world of overconsumption with very little ROI (return of investment) to get you back to enjoying your life…because now you are too busy filling 17 new jar (you never needed) and hyper separating items that you KNOW will have very little chance of staying that way.

As someone who has been professionally working in entertainment for over a decade, I have tremendous insight to the lack of support and disorganization that especially creative professionals experience in their work and residential spaces. By bringing a more grounded, realistic and holistic approach with sustainability in mind, my clients truly feel more inspired, centered, and connected to their spaces, which yields them often better smoother and sustainable work outcomes and a more comfortable environment. I also create systems for data organizing, so both in person and virtual spaces have the capacity to be drastically transformed and improved.

As a business owner, community is everything. In what ways do you serve your community and how has your community served you?

I am so excited to embark on a new journey to bring fun and insightful ways to learn about the world of organizing and productivity to social media, especially for the Arts community.

Being a nationally recognized member of NAPO (the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals) who has aided in creating curriculum for organizers across the nation has also been a rewarding experience. Being a part of a devoted community of organizing professionals has provided me more opportunities to learn how to serve various professionals in the workplace and has given me a great foundation to aid in troubleshooting and creative problem solving the issues many of my creative clients experience.

The entertainment community I believe throughout time has been a continued beacon of hope, collective introspection, and has been great at providing opportunities to show the various sides of our humanity. I work very intentionally and intimately with the many details of their lives and I believe my background as an artist, provides me an innate sense of respect and sensitivity to honor the inventory and desires of my client’s lives and goals in their businesses.

What advice would you give to others who want to start a small business?

Don’t learn everything you think you need to know to start. Start by sharing your desires with those who are happy to support you and mention to the

START with a strong why, a why so powerful for you that you can see yourself believing it worthy to wake up for and dedicate intentional time for. Opportunities will come thereafter as long as you stay consistent to your purpose.

What women inspire you and why?

Women who have spent years being underestimated and have used it as an advantage – when people do not expect much from you, you have all the space to dream, innovate, and blow your mind with your creativity. Eventually the right people will find you and connect with you for right reasons and be avid supporters- I have experienced this personally and have been sincerely in awe by the profound support of genuine and often like minded souls.

What do you think are the most significant challenges for small business owners or women in leadership positions?

I think we need to express and change how women in leadership positions often feel obliged to suffer in silence.

We don’t often have many role models who are paving the path we are uniquely on and oftentimes drastically experience different challenges from our male business counterparts in garnering trustworthiness, assumption of competence, and asserting authority. So we often push and overcompensate where there is no need to as a trauma response to feeling expected to handle all problems truly by ourselves…which can be self sabotaging and exhaustive overtime because it is not sustainable.

Women need more spaces to be in community with like minded entrepreneurs and business education that emphasizes delegation and building in our businesses a sense of safe and encouraging community.
