It is the 30th anniversary of the horrific massacre in Tiananmen Square and De Construkt art space in Red Hook is hosting a concert/fundraiser in remembrance next week. It starts at 8pm and for $20, which will be given to the massacre victims families in China, you can enjoy the performance plus there will be food and drinks.You can read about the event below and check out their Facebook event page for more info.
You’re invited to a multi-media multi-disciplinary fundraising concert on May 10th featuring Tiananmen leaders/survivors and American activists/artists commemorating the 30th anniversary of Tiananmen Massacre. All donations will be sent to massacre victims’ families in China.Venue: De Construkt art space, 41 Seabring Street, 3rd floor, Red Hook, Brooklyn.Time: 8pm-11:30pm, May 10, Friday.
Featured Tiananmen survivors: Fang Zheng (方政), whose both legs were crushed by a tank while he was rescuing another student protester, now Chairman of the Chinese Democratic Education Foundation.
