Red Hook is such a rich, artistic and diverse neighborhood. We live and work and thrive in this hood and are so excited to see that there is a walking tour that represents our area so well. Red Hook is a neighborhood with two faces: Divided in half by Coffey Park, there’s a growing creative community on the waterfront side, and the largest public housing project in the borough (and second largest in New York State) on the other side.
On this approximately two-hour walk, we’ll explore several sites that represent both groups. Along the way, we’ll discuss current development and ongoing neighborhood improvements, as well as consider how the two faces of Red Hook can integrate.
