Residency Unlimited’s latest group art show opened July 7th at the Realty Collective gallery, 351 Van Brunt, and we have one last artist to spotlight! You can come see the show at our space until July 14th. Read the interview for artist Emanuel Rossetti below.
How has being a resident in NYC affected or contributed to your art?
NYC makes me to think about durations.
How has your work developed since your last exhibit?
The residency program encouraged me to (re)make work I’ve previously made specifically for exhibitions, but now without any specific goals. The effect I experience is a kind of reversal.
What do you plan to do next?
To continue to work on the above-mentioned.
What is your favorite experience or exhibits that you encountered during your time in NYC?
A lot of things have happened in the last months but certainly one of my very favourites was Marianne Schroeder’s performance of Galina Ustvolskaya’s Piano Sonatas at the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Chelsea. And also watching all of Six Feet Under.
