Did you know that we are celebrating Prospect Park’s 150th anniversary this year? We are so lucky to have this sprawling gorgeous park as Brooklyn’s backyard. Coming up is just one of the many events that the Prospect Park Alliance hosts, the Harvest Festival. It’s time to start having Autumn fun! Sunday, September 24th from 1pm-4pm you and your family can attend this free event. Read more about it below or click here.
Come celebrate this year’s harvest with Prospect Park Alliance! Harvest, cook, and eat potatoes that were planted in our garden back in May. You can also challenge friends and family to potato sack races.
Built by a Dutch family in the 18th-century farming village of Flatbush, Lefferts Historic House features a working garden, historic artifacts, period rooms and exhibits. Visitors are encouraged to play with traditional tools, toys and games, and engage in historic activities such as candle making, sewing and butter churning. Prospect Park Alliance and the Historic House Trust of New York City jointly operate and preserve this important piece of New York City’s past.
