Looking Forward to Fall

On this rainy and cooler day, as we sit looking at the 7 day forecast and see absolutely no more 80 degree days in our future, we are thinking of the Fall.  It’s right around the corner and, though we are sad to see the summer go, we need to remind ourselves of all the wonderful events and activities that the autumn brings.

There are so many festivals and events around the Brooklyn area to look forward to.  DUMBO’s huge outdoor photography exhibit, Photoville is coming up and after that we’ve got the Great Irish Fair in Coney Island, Atlantic Antic and so much more.  Street Festivals are better when you aren’t walking around in 90 degree heat anyway, right? Here’s a list from Explore Brooklyn.

An activity we eagerly anticipate once September rolls around is apple picking and there are so many options around us, whether you travel upstate, to Long Island or to New Jersey.  Here’s an informative Time Out article listing the best pick-your-own farms close by. It’s also time to plan for the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze.  If you haven’t been, it’s quite a magical spectacle (see photo above).  Tickets went on sale yesterday and they do sell out quickly, which is why we’re mentioning this now.

Like we said, we’re sad to see the summer go but are ready to welcome fall with open arms!
