Expanding Our Composting Programs in 2017.

Those little brown composting bins are everywhere near our Carroll Gardens office.  The program is doing well in the neighborhood and people seem to be embracing it across the five boroughs. Many who don’t have composting pick up have been taking their materials to drop-off sites. There are dozens to choose from.  Realty Collective’s Sachia Munroe blogged about meeting a woman who worked for NYCCP (New York City Compost Project) and how the items collected are being used to soil the Red Hook Farm.

With all of this community and local government effort, we were very pleased to see that it’s not stopping here.  The pick-up program is expanding to reach 3.3 million residents city-wide by the end of 2017.  That is great news!  You can read more about which areas can expect this service here.
