Affordable Summer Camps in Brooklyn

As a follow up to our recent blog about the Summer Camp Expo in Park Slope last weekend we’d like to share some of our findings for affordable camps.  Now is the time to sign up as many camps are offering early bird deals! There are so many options in Brooklyn in a variety of activities for your kids from rock climbing to rock bands but most are $500 or more per week! Yikes! We have compiled a list of camps that are $400 or less per week below.

Sports camps tend to be on the more affordable side. Brooklyn Ayso soccer meets at the Parade Grounds and offers weekly camps starting at $250 per week.  Camp Olympia in Park Slope focuses on sports of all kinds including swimming for only $300 per week. The Prospect Park YMCA summer camp is two week long sessions for $520 total.

We also found a few specialized camps that won’t break the bank. The most affordable music camp we could find is in Fort Greene. The Brooklyn Music School is a reasonable $400 per week for kids 5-12. For kids who want to perform we found Piper Theatre Summer Camp. Kids 7 and older focus on fantastical plays, puppetry, or musical theater for $750 two week sessions.
