RealTours: Prospect Heights with Shyda Hoque

Prospect Heights is one of the most exciting neighborhoods where you will not lack the historic beauty of brownstone tree-lined blocks and some of the most delicious places to eat and enjoy things to do.  It helps that almost every train is close to this neighborhood.  Here are just a few suggestions for this real tour of Prospect Heights below:

Morning–  I would start the day with a workout at Studio Maya.  I actually co-hosted a class a few years ago in the space. One of the reasons I wanted to have a class there was because of how spacious and clean it was.  There are a variety of classes for people of all levels and designed to target the core and to also help with people who have suffered injuries.  I would then take a short walk down Bergen and stop by Ovenly Park Slope to have a cup of coffee and snack on a delicious baked good—try the Pistachio Cardamom bread!

Midday– The weekend in Prospect Heights would not be the weekend without the greenmarket at Grand Army Plaza. The David Bowie exhibit is happening at the Brooklyn Museum and go to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and explore the grounds especially around this time of year!  I would check out the shop at the gardens that have great gifts for people and many gifts are made in Brooklyn.

Afternoon– After walking around you might want to visit some great spots for lunch. Close by might be Lincoln Station or you might want to grab some of the best Ramen in NYC at Chuko.  Prospect Heights is a dessert destination with options in Prospect Heights and you will be able to go to Ample Hills, Doughnut Plant or Four & Twenty Blackbirds.  There is great coffee at each of these spaces if you are detoxing from sugar.

Evening–  You can go check out a game or show at Barclays stadium.  I would also suggest a few dinner spots including Olmstead or James before retiring for the night.  There will not be any shortage of stimulation while spending a day in Prospect Heights!

Thinking of moving to Prospect Heights?  You might want to check out this studio that is in the best location and a block from Barclays!
