Theremin workshop this weekend in Red Hook.

The NY Theremin Society has started it’s March residency at Pioneer Works in Red Hook (159 pioneer street between Imlay and Conover) and they’ll be celebrating the end of the month with a concert on March 29th.  Between now and then, though, they’ll be having a workshop for anyone interested in learning about the Theremin.  Doesn’t that sound awesome?!  Info for both events is below.

NY THEREMIN SOCIETY WORKSHOP
Sunday, March 16 2-5PM

Founded by musician-composers Suzanne Fiol and Dorit Chrysler, the NY Theremin Society launched its concert series on December 2nd 2005, bringing together skilled interpreters on Theremin, each presenting their solo works and joining in an experimental Theremin Orchestra. Dorit Chrysler, who will be premiering a commissioned soundtrack at MoMA on February 27, and theremin virtuoso Rob Schwimmer will lead the Pioneer Works Theremin workshop, which is geared towards beginners and advanced players alike. Select participants from the workshop will have the opportunity to play in an upcoming Theremin Orchestra concert.
