Tomorrow is the last weekend of NYC Summer Streets.  The Department of Transportation program turns Park avenue to a car-free zone and there are plenty of activities for kids of all ages to participate in.  This marks the 11th season and every year this program becomes more popular and there were over 300,000 participating in the event last year.  If you are coming from Brooklyn you could ride/walk over the Brooklyn Bridge up LaFayette to Park Avenue to Central Park. There will be 5 rest stops throughout the route.  Bike and Roll will provide free bikes at most of the Rest Stops.  There will be yoga classes at the Soho rest stop, food sampling and an art walking tour in midtown and ziplining in Foley Square.  This is the time of year where New York City is a backyard from 7am to 1pm “This year’s programming explores this theme by offering the public unique moments to experience the streets in new ways—to see, hear, taste, smell and feel at a heightened state as if for the first time,” DOT Commissioner Polly Trottenberg said in a press release. Here is a guide to the 2018 Summer Street event.  Ever wanted NYC to be one big block party then come by for the last weekend of Summer Streets.
