Grand Army Bar is a relatively new addition to Boerum Hill, located at 336 State Street. We tried it the other day and have only amazing things to report back.
After sitting down we checked out their extensive award-winning cocktail list and settled on a “Super Cool Party People”, which consists of pineapple rum, navy-strength rum, pineapple, mint, chamomile. It was yummy! As were the few cocktails we had after that! We got their before seven which meant happy hour oysters! As you can see in the photo below these are served with several eyedroppers full of flavor to drop onto each oyster. Our favorites were pastrami (we know…sounds weird) and ramp. So good. As far as the menu goes, everything we put in our mouth was delicious, but we would highly recommend the mussels in sriracha broth. They are so creamy and you end up spooning that sauce into your mouth. Just thinking about them makes us want to go back. It was an all around amazing meal and we weren’t the only ones who think so because, although we easily sat down around 6pm, by 7 or 7:30pm there was a wait. If you’re planning on trying this place go early….and order the mussels!
