Happy Thanksgiving everyone! On this, the biggest shopping weekend of the year, we much prefer Small Business Saturday to Black Friday. Supporting our local businesses in a time where huge corporations like Amazon seem to be all encompassing is more important than ever. All the area main drags should be buzzing with holiday shoppers. Van Brunt street with hip boutiques like Wooden Sleepers and the Court and Smith Street shopping district with adorable gift shops like Swallow and Wanderlustre. The Park Slope 5th Avenue BID is making an event of it, with activities and sales along the 30 block stretch of stores on 5th Ave.
More events in Brooklyn? One of our favorite vintage clothing spots, Olly Oxenfree Vintage, is having a big record sale plus 15% off storewide. Also, the Invisible Dog will be hosting it’s first holiday market of the season Saturday and Sunday, featuring local artists and makers.
Happy shopping!
