We’ve discussed our favorite aspects of the welcoming of the spring season on this blog extensively. It’s a wonderful time for day trips to go hiking, dining al fresco will soon be an option, and the Cherry Blossom festival at Brooklyn Botanic Garden is this weekend! Another exciting event is the registration for summer/fall CSAs!
Red Hook Farms weekly fruit and veggie pick-up begins in June but registration is now open. Something very unique about this farm share, which is run by local nonprofit the Red Hook Initiative, is that it uses a sliding scale to determine what individuals and families will be expected to pay for their share.
