Red Hook Community Supported Fishery Moving into 351 Van Brunt for Winter.

Mermaids Garden is a CSF, which is like a CSA but members pick up different varieties of fish instead of fruits and veggies. There are multiple pick-up locations around Brooklyn. The Red Hook pick-up location has moved into our Van Brunt office on Saturday mornings from 10am-12pm for the colder months ahead. I talked to Jane Herro, who works out of that office frequently, to find out her thoughts and here is what she had to say.
I’m definitely excited to share our office with Mermaid’s Garden CSF. I grew up on a lake and loved to fish. I never caught much, but when I did, eating it was so rewarding and delicious.It’s great that in a such a big city where it’s sometimes hard to connect with nature, programs like Mermaid’s Garden exist to remind us to think about where our food is coming from.
