Today is Giving Tuesday and there are plenty of worthy causes out there that need your help. We’d like to point the spotlight on one local organization that fights for social justice. Yesterday we wrote about the spark prize and here is one of the finalists.
Red Hook Community Justice Center “conceives, plans, and operates programs that seek to test new ideas, solve difficult problems, and achieve system change. Our projects include community-based violence prevention projects, alternatives to incarceration, reentry initiatives, and court-based programs that reduce the use of unnecessary incarceration and promote positive individual and family change”.
Today, if you give to this organization here, the Brooklyn Community Foundation will match donations up to $100,000.
