Dates to Get Your Free Helmets in Brooklyn!

The Vision Zero program through the New York Department of Transportation has hosted these bike fitting and give away events in the past and we are so pleased to see this continuing. As we watch many a biker ride by us without helmets and think to ourselves how dangerous that is, the DOT is making it easy for people to get themselves a helmet and make sure it fits correctly. The fit is very important. If it is too loose then it will slide forwards or backwards and won’t protect the crucial areas of your head. We visited one of these free helmet events years ago at Brooklyn Public Library near Grand Army Plaza and, though the line was pretty long, they had many folks helping out and it went quickly. There are three dates coming up in Brooklyn, as you can see above, the first one being tomorrow. So mark these down and get your helmet if you don’t already have one! Be safe Brooklyn!
