For the month of June, we’re welcoming back local artist and activist, Alexandra Jamieson! She’s hosting a couple of events plus the Scrappy Reading Series is coming back for its second iteration.

Discover the enchanting world of “Scrappy Books,” a captivating art show featuring the innovative works of Alexandra Jamieson. This unique exhibition showcases a mesmerizing collection of collage, altered books, and “Goth Girl Grimoires,” all crafted from found materials, discarded books, and vibrant New York City ephemera. Each piece breathes new life into forgotten objects, transforming them into intricate journals adorned with lace, tags, and ample journaling space, perfect for writers and witches alike.

In addition to the exhibition, Alexandra Jamieson will be hosting two interactive events on June 15th:
Collage Class: Dive into the creative process with all supplies, technique, and design basics. Learn the art of collage using a variety of found materials. This hands-on class is $30 per person.
Upcycled Book Demonstration: Witness the magic of transforming old books into art. This demonstration offers insights into Jamieson’s techniques and is priced at $10.
20% of proceeds will be donated to the Brooklyn Public Library!
