Compére Collective Presents: Oneness by Lisett Clark-Dziedzic

Oneness, a solo exhibition, brings together a deeply personal and political narrative through works made from recycled materials, fabric collages, and photography. Rooted in the duality of two homes — New York and Chile — the exhibition weaves together themes of sustainability, migration, and identity. By upcycling discarded textiles and everyday remnants, the works challenge the viewer to consider the stories embedded in materials, and how transformation is possible not just in art, but in life. Through the layering of fabric and image, Oneness becomes a meditation on displacement and belonging — what it means to carry one’s culture, history, and hopes into new terrain.

This exhibition also serves as a response to the current U.S. administration’s handling of foreign aid and immigration policies, particularly the recent closure of US AID programs. The artist reflects on how such actions impact the dreams and realities of those who migrate in search of a better life. Each piece is a testament to resilience—the decision to leave everything behind, to begin again, and to stitch a new narrative from fragments. Oneness ultimately calls for empathy and equity, reminding us that everyone deserves the chance to thrive, no matter where they come from or what they have left behind.
