Celebrating Our 15th By Giving Back: HeartShare
Nov 18, 2020
As a part of our 15th Anniversary celebration and thank you to Brooklyn, we’ve selected 15 non-profit organizations to highlight that are doing work in our borough—or directly helping our fellow Brooklynites. We encourage everyone to learn a bit about the people making our community stronger and, if possible, to join us in making a small monetary donation to further their work. We thank them for everything they do and thank you for supporting a small, woman-owned Brooklyn business for the past 15 years!
There’s a timely reason we wanted to feature HeartShare, the umbrella social service organization that helps children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, while offering support to their families: artists from their ArtShare program are currently featured in or gallery!
You can read all about the exciting, ongoing exhibition at the Compère Collective space here but first, a quick overview of HeartShare’s mission:
“HeartShare Human Services of New York nurtures and empowers children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, through education, life skills and vocational training, employment, residential, case management, recreational, individual and family supports, and health care services.“
We’re so grateful for both the work the organization does and for partnering with us to showcase the work of their artists.
