Celebrating Our 15th By Giving Back: Cora Dance
Nov 18, 2020
As a part of our 15th Anniversary celebration and thank you to Brooklyn, we’ve selected 15 non-profit organizations to highlight that are doing work in our borough—or directly helping our fellow Brooklynites. We encourage everyone to learn a bit about the people making our community stronger and, if possible, to join us in making a small monetary donation to further their work. We thank them for everything they do and thank you for supporting a small, woman-owned Brooklyn business for the past 15 years!
Our love for Cora Dance is no secret! We’ve been fans and supporters since the beginning. Based in Red Hook and serving Brooklyn and beyond, Cora Dance is truly dance for all.
(That’s us—celebrating at Cora’s annual Red Hook Prom, a fundraiser we’ve sponsored in the past)
While Cora is offering virtual classes right now to meet the needs of community dancers, the studio is hoping to offer a COVID-friendly space at some point. All these efforts speak to Cora’s mission: “Cora is dance for everyone, offering great art and rare opportunities for intersection. Everything is pay-what-you-can. No one is ever turned away from a class or performance based on what or if they can pay.”
If you’d like to learn more about what they do (trust us, you do), check them out here.
