Tonight at 6pm at Medgar Evers College in Crown Heights Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams will be holding a forum introducing us to some of the candidates vying for the position of Public Advocate. You can read more about what being a PA entails below or in this very informative BKreader article.
As a non-voting member of the New York City Council, the public advocate has the right to introduce and co-sponsor legislation, and serves as an ombudsman who provides oversight for city agencies, investigates citizens’ complaints about city services and makes proposals to address any of their shortcomings; the PA is also the first in line to succeed the mayor.
The event, of course, is free but you should register through eventbrite to RSVP. Come out and learn more about those who may be serving our area!
