There was a huge turn out this year for the PTA 5K around Prospect Park, as you can see. The family fun walk/run/bike/scoot was a fundraiser to raise money for Brooklyn schools. Carlos Menchaca was there, representing District 38, as were council members Brad Lander, Laurie Cumbo, and Stephen Levin (in the photo above). There were a lot of families with their scooting or biking kids. Also one Brooklyn school with more than a dozen elementary students who ran the whole time! Very impressive! When this event started several years ago (we think eight?) there were only a couple of dozen runners and this year it’s grown to hundreds!
