For all Brooklyn Historical Society members here is a discount alert. For all pizza lovers here is an awesome event alert! Brooklyn Brainery and BHS present Brooklyn Pizza:The Search for Authenticity at 7pm tonight at the Brooklyn Historical Society (128 Pierrepont St). Tickets are $12 for the general public and members get them for $8! Here’s a little about what to expect tonight:
Who makes the most authentic pizza in New York City? Explore the debate with pizza historian Scott Wiener and a panel of Brooklyn’s top pizza makers, including a classic old-school slice shop, a historic coal-fired pizza parlor, a traditional Neapolitan pizzeria, and a new-school pie innovator. Slice into issues of tradition, authenticity, and perception in the contemporary food landscape!
And for those of you who haven’t gone on one of Scott Wiener’s pizza tours we highly recommend checking him out. He started giving walking tours years ago and his business grew. Now he gives walking and bus tours, stopping to eat pizza at different locations and teaches about the history of pizza in NYC. The best part of the tour is his passion for pizza! It’s really fun!
