Saying Goodbye to Summer Checklist

There are only a few days left to August and it’s always sad to see this month end.  It flies by swiftly and we come to realize there are so many summery events, places, and happenings that we have yet to experience this year! We’ve put together a list for anyone who feels the same way and wants to make the most of this season while we still can.

A visit to Coney Island– With the beach, Luna Park, and the Brooklyn Cyclones there is so much to do and see in this neighborhood during the season.  The Cyclones play there last home game on September 7th so you still have time but not much.

Governors Island-Though we have until October 31st to visit this vast and beautiful park, many of their events and exhibits will end well before that.  Visiting in September is a good time since the weather will be temperate and many exhibits will still be on display.

Visit an NYC Outdoor Pool– You can find a public pool in virtually every area of Brooklyn.  They are refreshing on a hot day and entirely free! You still have a couple of weeks to take advantage of these since they have extended the season until September 10th!

Outdoor flicks! Though summer concerts series such as Celebrate Brooklyn and Summerstage have ended, we have the rest of August and September to enjoy a free outdoor screening.
