We heard about the expansion of Citi Bikes into the neighborhoods of Red Hook, Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill a while back. According to this Crain’s New York blog, this would begin in August. So it’s fast approaching. This will definitely be good for a lot of people who would like to use Citi Bike to get around. South Brooklyn had been neglected for a while. It may also mean tourists biking aimlessly in the area, zigzagging in and out of traffic, not wearing helmets. Ugh. Be careful out there everyone!
