One of the most tranquil and awe-inspiring spots within the five boroughs is Wave Hill. Though this gorgeous public garden is in Riverdale, just south of Yonkers in the Bronx, it’s a fairly quick drive on a weekend morning. Last Sunday was a bright, warm, and sunny day and it took us about 40 minutes to get there from the Columbia Waterfront District.
Once there, we strolled around the grounds stopping to sit on a bench or one of their many Adirondack chairs, took in the tremendous view, and browsed their quaint little gift shop. They regularly hold events, as well, such as photography, painting, gardening, guided tours, and performances. There was a poetry reading set up when we arrived. The cafe is also worthy of a mention. It’s creative and delicious menu options were pleasantly surprising! It was an all around lovely day. Check out our gallery of photos below!
