8th Annual Columbia Waterfront District Tree Lighting tomorrow.

There are many Christmas Tree Lightings going on around the hood.  Some last weekend and some this.  But this one is near and dear to our heart.  Columbia Waterfront District is home to our very first office and we’ve been a part of this great community for many years.  This is the 8th year for the tree lighting, which will take place December 12th, tomorrow!  More info from the Carroll Gardens Association, who is presenting this lighting, is below.

We will be holding our 8th Annual Columbia Waterfront District Tree Lighting on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The Tree Lighting ceremony takes place at the Human Compass Garden located at the intersection of Columbia Street and Sackett Street in the Columbia Waterfront District of Brooklyn. CGA is pleased to continue this tradition of gathering the community for the tree lighting, playing live holiday music, having Santa distribute toys, and serving refreshments from local restaurants and businesses.

Like previous years, Santa will arrive on the FDNY Local 202 truck with surprises for children and the Dan Kurfirst Trio will perform holiday music throughout the event to set the mood. There will be free refreshments for attendees compliments of restaurants and businesses located in the Columbia Waterfront District, including: Ferdinando’s Focacceria, Red Apple, Mazzat, MikNic, Margaret Palca Bakes, Orchard, Calexico, Park Bagels, Jalopy Tavern, Brooklyn Union Café, Carroll Gardens Diner, Evergreen Liquor Store Inc., and President Food Corp.

CGA is grateful to the event sponsors: Apple Bank, Capital One, TD Bank, Dog Day Cyclery, Brooklyn Navy Yard-based OgoSport for donating award-winning toys that promote active play for people of all ages, House of Pizza & Calzone for generously donating the tree, and real estate developer Marshall Sohne for donating electricity for the lights.

CGA is also currently accepting donations for its annual Toy Drive.
