Day Trip to Astoria.

Our perfect day in Astoria would start with a visit to a cute and cozy coffee shop/cafe called Sonbobs at 34-15 28th Avenue. Delicious baked goods, quirky decor, great coffee and a warm and friendly owner named Sonnie make this one of the most charming spots in the area. After you’ve gotten a bite to eat and your coffee fix then take a short walk over to the Socrates Sculpture Park and take in the scenery (photo above). Stroll around, sit and read a book, take in the often unusual art pieces and people watch at this quaint waterfront park. Once you feel like you’ve had your fill head to The Museum of the Moving Image. This place is special! Its one of our favorite museums in New York celebrating the silver screen and all that goes with it, including special effects, sound effects, set design and make-up. There are interactive exhibits and film screenings to boot! Now it’s time for lunch! There are so many options here but we’d like to direct you to a hole in the wall foodie destination spot on Steinway Street called Kabab Cafe. Delicious middle eastern food and a very gregarious owner/chef will make this meal memorable.
