The Gardens of Columbia Waterfront.

The Columbia waterfront District boasts several community gardens.  We count seven, which is a whole lot for such a small area.  This is actually where Carroll Gardens gets it’s name.  What many of us now call Columbia Waterfront used to be considered Carroll Gardens, named so for the community plots located practically every other block down Columbia Street.  This Inhabitat slideshow is a great source to virtually tours all of these green spaces. Some of these spaces, including the Amazing Garden pictured above, host events such as concerts, outdoor films, and food festivals. A list of the seven is below.

  • Amazing Garden
  • South Brooklyn Children’s Garden
  • Human Compass Garden
  • Summit Street Garden
  • Pirate’s Cove Garden
  • the Backyard Garden
  • the Urban Meadow
